About / djr296
Play. Understand. Build.
Caldrin Software is where djr296 turns a lifelong interest in games into working software. Retro systems are a particular focus: keeping PlayStation 2 multiplayer communities connected, adding achievements to classic Nintendo 64 shooters, and making Raspberry Pi gameplay recording possible without a capture card.
The work also includes original games and practical desktop tools—from a Python and Ursina horde shooter to Firebase-backed messaging and a themed media downloader. Each project starts with a real problem, a curiosity about how something works, or a feature that ought to exist.
The goal is simple: understand the games and technology worth preserving, then build useful tools that make them easier to play, share, and enjoy.
